Tankless Hot Water Heater Installation in San Diego County and Surrounding Areas
What Should I Know About My Water Heater
The great majority of us take hot water for granted. We never think about it until there is no hot water and you need to shower to go to work or do the dishes, etc.
Typical Tank Water Heaters typically last only around 8-12 years, whereas Tankless Water Heaters will last up to twice as long or about 20 years, depending on your water quality. Unfortunately, in Southern California, Water Heaters don’t last quite as long years due to the extremely poor water quality in San Diego and surrounding areas. For this reason, we suggest adding a whole house water filtration system to help all your water-using appliances last longer.
New Tankless Water Heater Installation
Now that you know your current water heater will eventually fail, you need to decide on various makes and models. You can choose between traditional tank water heaters or new tankless models that save money on your energy bills and provide instant hot water.

Tank Water Heaters vs. Tankless Water Heaters
Want endless hot water? A tankless water heater may be the choice. With a larger storage tank, water heaters are the most popular, require little maintenance, and are less expensive than tankless water heaters. On the downside, tank water heaters do use more energy. If you don’t use the stored hot water, it cools down and must continually be reheated using gas or electricity. Standard residential tank water heaters can range in size and capacity from 40 to 100 gallons. You’ll want to consider the first-hour rating, as that’s how much hot water you get from your water heater in its first hour of operation. Your tank’s first-hour rating or FHR is listed on the tank and should be very close to how much water your family uses at its peak time, perhaps in the morning.
